The Citadel
Luudhoq, the largest city in Harn, is an imposing place of twisting little streets, fortresses and towers, of almost harrowing beauty. It is also the city where the Watchers' rule is tightest. There are distinct areas to this enchanting but terrifying place...
The Northern Quarter- this is where a number of the shops, as well as the large houses, are located. The Northern Quarter is well-to-do, with most of the nobles, landowners and merchants living here. Vagrants and beggars are banned from this Quarter.
The Shallows - once known as the Western Quarter, the Shallows is the more run-down part of Luudhoq, an area where thieves and footpads are almost on an equal footing with the Watchers, and an area where all manner of very frightening and strange people stagger through the streets.
The Square - originally the name by which Luudhoq's central market square was known, it has since come to mean the area immediately around the market square, and indeed anywhere within the centre of Luudhoq, where peculiar shops of all kinds abound, as well as many taverns, foodhouses and several smaller markets down the side-streets.
The Harbour - this area covers the southernmost part of Luudhoq- the quayside, and the surrounding area, including the storehouses and the favourite haunts of sailors and seaborne adventurers.
The Cobbles - the area to the east of Luudhoq's centre, the Sanctum is located just between the Square area and the Cobbles, and towers over both areas. The Cobbles is home to wizards of all kinds- enchanters, illusionists, necromancers, and many others live here; some of them also run the various shops that can be found in the twisting little back-streets of the Cobbles- possibly the most confusing and poorly laid-out part of the entire city.
